A Photographic Journey: Preserving Art and Culture for a Decade by: Amadou Kromah

  • Common Wealth Gallery 100 South Baldwin Street Madison, WI, 53703 United States (map)

This exhibit proudly commemorates my 10th year as a dedicated photographer, capturing powerful and meaningful stories and moments throughout the community. My work focuses on highlighting the strength, and joy found within the Black community, showcasing the beauty in everyday life. Over the past ten years, I have been honored to collaborate with a variety of notable organizations, including UW–Madison, Amazon-Shopbop, American Family Insurance, Madison Magazine, and the Overture Center for the Arts, all of which have enriched my artistic journey and broadened the scope of my storytelling.

The exhibit will present a stunning collection of large, framed photographs that celebrate the beauty and rich tapestry of life. It is scheduled to take place at the Commonwealth Gallery this summer, running from August 16 through August 20. The event will open with a special meet-the-artist reception on August 16, giving attendees a unique opportunity to hear speeches, share moments of gratitude with fellow community members, and gain a deeper understanding of my artistic vision and creative process. Moreover, every photo on display will be thoughtfully available for purchase, allowing art enthusiasts to bring a piece of this meaningful work into their own homes. I warmly invite you to join me for this meaningful and inspiring event, celebrating a decade of art and culture through photography.
